Steve Reed, 44, of 424 Brookcliff Lane, Cary, formerly of Beaufort,
entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Cary Health
and Rehabilitation Center.
Steve's distinguished military career consisted of being a member of the
United States Army for 20 years, serving in the Bosnian War, the Somalian
War and both Gulf Wars. He was the owner of Edelweiss Cafe in downtown
Selma and Raleigh.
Steve will be forever cherished by: his BELOVED WIFE, Nicole Reed; 2 SONS,
Julian and Justin all of the home; his MOTHER, Shelia Reed Loud of
Beaufort; his FATHER and STEP-MOTHER, Jerry Murrell and Faith Murrell of
Abbeville, Louisianna; 4 BROTHERS, Jerry Murrell, Jr. of New Orleans,
Louisianna, Vernell "Micey" Murrell of Newport, Russell Reed (Lisa) of
Durham and Albert Loud of New Bern; 1 SISTER, Shamika McCoo of Texas; his
PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER, Rosabell P. Murrell of Beaufort; his MATERNAL
GRANDPARENTS, Willie Lee Reed, Sr. and Rena Pearl Reed both of Beaufort;
his GODDAUGHTER, Paris Nolen of Beaufort; and a host of UNCLES, AUNTS,
NEPHEWS, NIECES, COUSINS, other relatives and dear friends.
The family will be receiving their friends and guest at the homes of his
mother, Shelia Reed Loud and Paternal Grandmother, Rosabell P. Murrell.
Homegoing Service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 2:00PM in
the Faith Tabernacle of Praise Church, 413 NC Highway 101, Beaufort, with
the Bishop Donald Crooms, Pastor, Officiating. Interment with military
honors will immediately follow the service in the Church Cemetery.
Steve's earthly remains are resting peacefully in the care, comfort and
serenity of Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 701 West Street, New Bern
