Ossie Grady, Jr., 85, of 2187 Highway 58 South, Trenton, entered into
eternal rest on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his residence.
Ossie was a member of Morris Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and of the United
States Army. He retired from the City of New Bern Public Works Department
after 25 years of dedicated Service.
Ossie will be forever cherished by: his BELOVED WIFE of 64 years, Della
Mae Wilder Grady of the home; 6 SONS, Bobby Grady (Linda) of Atlanta,
Glendell Grady (Antionette), Alton Grady (Gloria) and Gerry Grady
(Katrina) all of New Bern, Donnie Grady (Shirley) of Dover and Ricky Grady
(Rev. Christina) of Bayboro; 4 DAUGHTERS, Claudette Harper and Rev.
Gwendolyn Haddock (Adel) both of Pollocksville, Vanessa Grady and Michelle
Grady both of Atlanta; 20 GRANDCHILDREN; 10 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; 1
BROTHER, Lumas Grady (Mae) of Baltimore; 1 SISTER-IN-LAW, Ebbie Franks of
Trenton; 1 ADOPTED SON, Charles Nobles, Sr. of New Bern; and a host of
NEPHEWS, NIECES, COUSINS, other relatives and freinds.
The family will be receiving their friends and guest at the residence.
Viewing will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 2-6PM at
Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 701 West Street, New Bern.
Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 12Noon in
the Clinton Chapel Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Michael
Burden, Pastor, Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. William L. Wainwright,
Officiating and Rev. Mary Gooding, Eulogist. Interment with military
honors will immediately follow the service in Haiti Cemetery, Trenton.
Ossie's earthly remains are resting peacefully in the care, comfort and
serenity of Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., New Bern (252)637-5141.
