Earnest Nash Mattocks, 71, of the Belgrade Community, Maysville, entered
into eternal rest on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Premiere Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center, Jacksonville.
Earnest was employed with Collon Mattocks, Brother and Son Construction
Company, as a brick mason. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist
Church of Belgrade where he was a member of the Trustee Board, the Men's
Choir and the Laymen League.
Earnest will be forever cherished by: his WIFE, Deloris Mattocks of the
home; 5 SONS, Leon Murphy of Columbia, South Carolina, Ricky Mattocks and
Larry Mattocks both of the Belgrade Community, Tony O. Mattocks and
Earnest Mattocks II (Karen) both of Raleigh; 4 STEP-SONS, David P.
Hatchell (Tessa) of Atlanta, Cortez Dudley of Marietta, Georgia, Darin
Roberts and Frankie Smith both of Jacksonville; 5 DAUGHTERS, Hope Sidberry
(William) of Jacksonville, Cherrie Wright and Renae Lewis (William) both
of the Belgrade Community, Courtney Jefferson (Tyrone) of Raleigh and
Erica James (Michael) of Maysville; 20 GRANDCHILDREN; 2
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; 4 BROTHERS, Collon Mattocks (hattie) and William Clen
Mattocks (Christine) both of the Belgrade Community, Adam Mattocks (Ann)
and Jerry Mattocks (Carolyn) both of Jacksonville; 3 BROTHERS-IN-LAW; 4
SISTERS-IN-LAW; good friend, Freddie Smith; and a host of other relatives
and dear friends.
The family will be receiving their friends and guest at the residence of
his brother and sister-in-law, Collon and Hattie Mattocks, 119 Mattocks
Road, the Belgrade Community, Maysville.
Viewing will be held at the church on Saturday, January 21, 2012, one hour
prior to the service.
Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday at 1:00PM in the First Baptist
Church of Belgrade with the Rev. Roosevelt Baxter, Officiating. Interment
will immediately follow the service in the Mattocks Family Cemetery.
Earnest' earthly remains are resting peacefully in the care, comfort and
serenity of Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Williamsburg Parkway,
