Lubia Hardy - April 09, 2010

Lubia Marcilous Hardy, 78, of New Bern, formerly of Vanceboro, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 09, 2010 at the Two Rivers Healthcare Facility- Trent Campus.

He graduated in the Class of 1950 as Salutorian from Newbold High School and attended North Carolina A&T State University where he studied engineering. He was one of the engineers who worked with developing the Freedom Bridge in New Bern, was a member of the United States Army and previously a member of St. James Church of Christ in Vanceboro.

 

 

 

Lubia will be forever cherished by: 1 DAUGHTER, Jacqueline Torrence of Brooklyn, New York; 1 GRANDCHILD; 4 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; 2 SISTERS, Jessica Stanley of the Pembroke Community, New Bern and Annie Edwards of the Southgate Community, New Bern.

The family will be receiving their friends and guest at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Jessica Stanley, 1701 New Bern Avenue, the Pembroke Community, New Bern.

Viewing will be on Friday, March 16, 2010 at the Chapel one hour prior to the service.

Homegoing Service will also be held on Friday inside the Memorial Chapel of Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 701 West Street, New Bern, with the Elder Leonard Kelly, Officiating. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the service in Evergreen Cemetery.

His remains are resting peacefully in the care and comfort of: Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., New Bern, North Carolina (252)637-5141.
