Jennie Mae Jones, 89, of the James City Community, New Bern, entered into
eternal rest on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Britthaven of New Bern
Nursing Facility.
Jennie, a native of the Mansfield Community of Morehead City, was born to
the parentage of Abagail Bryant Jones and James Speight.
"Aunt Mae" as she was known by all, was always armed with her Bible in
hand. She would spend many hours on "bended knee" praying for her family.
She enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found sitting on her porch,
looking "toward the hills" from which she knew God reigned.
She was preceded in death by: her PARENTS; her SIBLINGS, Jennette Becton,
Virginia Bryant, Sarah Tootle, Hilda Lassiter, Cassie Jones, James S.
Jones, Sr. and Richard Jones.
Aunt Mae will be forever cherished by: many NEPHEWS and NIECES, including
Yvonne Henry of Havelock.
Homegoing Service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 1:00 PM in
the St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church, mansfield Community, Morehead City, with
the Rev. Gethsemane Hill, Jr. Pastor, Officiating.
