Eddie Hooks

Eddie Dean Hooks, 60, of Pollocksville, entered into eternal rest on
Monday, March 08, 2010 at the Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
He was a member of Clinton Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and graduated from
Jones County High School in Trenton in 1967. He was member of the United
States Army and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was owner and operator
of E & H Trucking Company for 24 years and was also a mechanic and
handy-man.
Eddie will be forever cherished by: his WIFE, Gloria Yvonne Bullock Hooks
of Wilmington; 1 DAUGHTER, Keisha Hooks of Wilmington; 2 GRANDDAUGHTERS; 3
BROTHERS, Michael (Lydia) and Terry Hooks both of Erie, Pennsylvania and
William Hooks (Lamarette) of Southfield, Michigan; 3 SISTERS, Thelma
Roberts and Evelyn Rolon both of Rahway, New Jersey, Ann Williams (George)
of Wilmington; 2 BROTHERS-IN-LAW; 6 SISTERS-IN-LAW; 3 UNCLES; 1 AUNT; and
a host of NEPHEWS, NIECES, COUSINS, other relatives and dear friends.
The family will be receiving their friends and guests at the residence of
Jennifer Murphy, 8072 Highway 17, Pollocksville.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 7-8 PM
at Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Williamsburg Parkway, Jacksonville.
Viewing will resume at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the
service.
Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM in
the Clinton Chapel Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, Pollocksville, with the
Rev. Mary Gooding, Pastor, Officiating and the Rev. Clyde L. Murphy, Sr.,
Eulogist. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the
service in the Killis Murphy, Sr. Family Cemetery.
His remains are resting peacefully in the care and comfort of:
